Members of the Women's Center discovered their sponsored sign advertising for the upcoming performance of "Vagina Monologues" defiled as of Tuesday, Feb. 13. The bright pink banner displayed on the right hand side of Sykes Student Union was left damaged the word "vagina" was cut out of it.
West Chester University senior, Megan B. Bates, 21, passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 at Chester County Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident early Monday morning. Bates, scheduled to graduate this Spring, was working toward a B.A. in Communication Studies and had a great interest in theater.
As a part of the celebration of Black History Month, the Women's Center showed a documentary film on a prominent African American sculptor Elizabeth Catlett this Thursday Feb. 15. The film, entitled "Sculpting the Truth" covered the struggles that Catlett faced as a woman and as an African American during her quest to become a successful artist.
West Chester students found a different way to take a stab at school rival Cheyney University last week. This time it wasn't a Homecoming football massacre, a last-second basketball victory or baseball trouncing; it was a direct stab at the Cheyney University prostitution incident.
