The first issue of The Meridian arrived on September 24, 1964. The paper would go on to report on the college's transition from Hunter to Lehman, on demonstrations against the Vietnam War in the sixties, a student takeover of the campus in the seventies, and the expansion of the college throughout the eighties and nineties. Together with the Special Collections Division of the Leonard Lief Library, The Meridian is seeking to preserve its fragile archives. If you are interested in helping digitize this historic collection please call 718 960 4966 or email us.

Here is a sampling of the fantastic culinary selection that lies conveniently along Metrorail's red line that will keep you full, enlightened, or at the very least, not bored.

Although going to the monuments at night is cool, you can only do it so many times before it loses its mystique. And as awesome as the Smithsonian museums are, they, too, tend to become a little boring after awhile. Have no fear, though. Beyond the staple diet of monuments and museums, the District houses an array of events and restaurants to keep even the most veteran Washingtonians enticed. Below is just a sample of the typical AU haunts.
